Megan Curtis, LPC, LCPC
About me
Hi! I'm Megan. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and I am here to help you! I bring with me 10 years of counseling experience. I earned my BS from Colorado State University in Human Development and Family Studies in 2003 and I earned my MA in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado in 2005.
I use an integrative approach to Mental Health and Overall Wellness using coaching methods and interventions that encourage the balance of mind, body and soul. I merge mindfulness coaching, life coaching and cognitive behavioral therapy to treat individuals seeking help with anxiety, emotional regulation, stress relief, life transitions, and coping skills.
I am warm, quirky and supportive. I love a good laugh. It brings me joy to help others realize their potential and feel EMPOWERED. I believe in balance and moderation. I believe that we are ALL capable of changing things that are less than desirable in our lives. I believe we all have the potential to be better and sometimes we just need an advocate to hold us accountable, give a different perspective and be our cheerleader.
My belief that everyone is unique guides my individualized approach with clients. What works for one person may not necessarily work for another, so a big part of this process is figuring out what works best for YOU – from the type of overall therapeutic intervention to details like self-care or life choices.
This may require you to do some “work” between sessions (Examples of assignments may include journaling or focusing on your breath). That being said, I like to focus on progress, not perfection. I will help you take some of the pressure off of trying to be perfect-in-every-way all the time.
Sometimes it will still hurt. Sometimes you will be scared. Sometimes you will trip and be mad at me. But each time, I will be there to help you refocus and get back on your feet. It takes courage to seek help for a more fulfilling and happy life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Megan is such a thoughtful and caring therapist. She’s wise and shares that wisdom when requested, but she is also a great listener and allows me to process through my own thoughts out loud too. Highly recommend her!

She really holds your hand through the process of confronting trauma. Hands down the best I've met

When I first reached out to Megan about working together, I asked her a few questions and she was quick to reply in a friendly, open and non-judgemental manner. She instantly made me feel at ease. During our sessions, she validated my feelings and listened to everything I had to say. I also really appreciated her more holistic approach that included meditation, yoga and journaling. I highly recommend her!

Although my time with BetterHelp has been short, Megan helped me a lot. For the first time in my life, I felt I wasn't pathetic, that my problems were true and not only in my head. She has been kind and supportive, and above all patient, since I am extremely discontinuous in committing to therapy.

Megan is a kind, supportive and very professional therapist. I feel completely at ease with her and she has already helped me a lot with some of the issues and doubts I had about myself and my situation. Always on time, replies quickly and is very understanding. I am definitely happy to be able to talk with her and I absolutely would recommend her.
